The hourglass with wooden frame and glass bulb impresses with its simple, symmetrical and aesthetic appearance. Three wooden rods frame the two drop-shaped glass bodies in which the sand runs from the upper to the lower glass bulb. The glass of the two flasks is reflected in the light.
Functions and use: The beautifully shaped hourglass can be used to boil eggs or to measure smaller time intervals. The sand slowly trickles through the connecting piece from the upper to the lower glass flask. Once all the sand has trickled through, simply turn the hourglass upside down and another time interval of the same length begins. Last but not least, observing the trickling sand has a calming effect, but in art and psychology it also stands for transience.
